At Sai’s Angel Foundation, we are committed to empowering the next generation through quality education and digital literacy. We are excited to share the success of our recent training program conducted at the Community Learning Center in Bidada, Kutch, in collaboration with the Tinkering India Initiative. This training, led by esteemed experts Kaushik Joshi and Dhruv Saidava, marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance educational practices and digital skills in the region.

Transforming STEM Education

STEM education—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—is at the heart of our mission to equip students with the skills needed to thrive in the 21st century. The training program began with a focus on understanding how children learn best, led by Kaushik Joshi, an experienced trainer in STEM education. His sessions were insightful and emphasized the importance of creating a curiosity-driven learning environment.

Kaushik shared practical strategies for engaging students in STEM subjects, highlighting how curiosity and exploration are key to fostering a love for learning. His approach resonated deeply with our team, especially in understanding how to encourage students to ask questions and explore topics more deeply. By focusing on practical learning methods, Kaushik has helped us lay the foundation for a more engaging and effective STEM curriculum.

Advancing Digital Literacy

In today’s digital world, literacy extends beyond reading and writing; it includes the ability to navigate and create in digital spaces. Recognizing this, our training program included a strong focus on digital literacy, led by Dhruv Saidava. Our team members, including Khushbu Gor, Darshana Rajgor, Kinjal Dhoriya, and Disha Nakar, received hands-on training in the basics of web design and HTML.

A significant highlight of the training was the session on using GitHub Pages to create and host web pages. By the end of the training, each participant had successfully developed and hosted their own web pages, marking a crucial step forward in their digital literacy journey. This experience not only boosted their technical skills but also empowered them to bring these tools back to their classrooms, where they can inspire students to become digital creators.

Fostering a Unified Teaching Approach

To maximize the impact of our educational programs, it’s essential that our teaching approaches are consistent and collaborative. To this end, we conducted a joint training session for all CLC teachers, STEM trainers, and Digital Literacy trainers. This session, led by Kaushik Joshi, emphasized the importance of a unified teaching strategy across all subjects. By working together, our trainers are better equipped to provide a cohesive learning experience for students, ensuring that all aspects of their education are interconnected and mutually reinforcing.

Building Practical Skills Through Hands-On Learning

The training program culminated in a series of practical STEM experiments, where both trainers and students had the opportunity to apply the concepts they had learned. This hands-on experience was invaluable, reinforcing the theoretical knowledge gained during the training sessions and providing a tangible demonstration of STEM principles in action.

By involving both trainers and students in these experiments, we are creating a learning environment that is dynamic, interactive, and rooted in real-world applications. This approach not only makes learning more engaging for students but also equips our trainers with the skills and confidence to lead these activities in their classrooms.
