Sai’s Angel Foundation (SAF), under the Vadiksha Saarathi programme, takes up projects to improve the learning levels of the inmates of various institutions like orphanage, home for neglected women or children and widow’s home. It is observed that most of these inmates have either never joined or have dropped out of formal school education. Under the programme, SAF provides support to such inmates to acquire a minimum learning level and make them literate enough to read and write to carry out day-to-day functionalities.

The goals of the programme are

• to enable basic reading and writing in Gujarati;
• to introduce, acquaint and familiarise with the basic concepts of Maths;
• through life skills sessions, build confidence to be able to face challenges in life;

SAF also endeavours to facilitate interventions by other organisations for creating livelihood opportunities for these inmates.
