Programs and Activities 2015-2016

We carried out a total of four programs in the year 2015-16. This included two Vacation camps and two SmartCamps

Gujarati Medium for Girls (MORNING)

The school is managed by Nagar Prathamik Shikshan Samiti (NPSS), Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan.

Vadiksha Vacation Camp program at this school was the very first offering of the SAF. The program was conducted successfully during April 2015 for two weeks.Following activities were carried out in the Camp.​

  • Students started the day with various yoga asanas, including Surya Namaskar, under a trained supervisor.
  • In Art and Craft sessions conducted by an expert, students learnt to make creative items out of waste, such as old CDs etc. They learnt how to paint on paper and cloth. Students also learnt how to make creative artefacts from ceramics and clay etc.
  • In Math Workshop, basic concepts were clarified, through various play-way and fun-filled methods such as mock market etc
  • An expert conducted spoken English classes in an interactive and play-way method, where students learnt to converse in simple sentences.
  • In Robotics Workshop, students tried their hands at assembling simple robots and got exposure to working of more complex ones.
  • Good values were imparted through videos & short-films. Students were encouraged to discuss the themes and share their experiences
  • Students were given basic computer knowledge.
  • Healthy and delicious hot snacks were served to the students everyday of the camp.

Gujarati Medium for Boys (EVENING)

The school is managed by Nagar Prathamik Shikshan Samiti (NPSS), Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan.

Gujarati Medium for Girls (MORNING)

The school is managed by Nagar Prathamik Shikshan Samiti (NPSS), Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan.

Vadiksha SmartCamp program at this school was the first SmartCamp offering of the SAF. The program was launched in September 2015. The subjects covered were Gujarati, English, Mathematics and Science. All programme components of SmartCamp were successfully implemented. The outcome of the programme has been good as confirmed by the monthly Formative AssessmentsIn addition, following activities were also carried out during the program.​

  • Computer based learning, using educational software like Learning-Delight and Mediapro was used.
  • Innovative activity-based approach was followed to familiarise various concepts of mathematics, which are commonly used. For example, the Mock Market activity familiarised the students with concepts of buying and selling, weights/measures and volume, quantity and quality, costing and pricing, profit and loss and currency transactions.
  • A visit was arranged to the Regional Community Science Center in December 2015.
  • Visit to the DIET (District Institute of Education and Training) Math Lab was also organised that provided several valuable practical insights into mathematical concepts.
  • On every Saturday, special classes were held to teach students various arts and crafts, including creative activities like clay modelling, CD painting etc.
  • A Science Exhibition was organised by the students in February 2016, where 63 projects relating to Science, Math, Environment and English were exhibited. Apart from a large number of students, several dignitaries of the city visited the exhibition.
