Inauguration of Vigyan Kaushalya Vikas Program – STEM
In India, there have been many discussions for popularization of science and developing scientific temper and hence STEM education become important part of education. The coursework of STEM challenges students to think critically and come up with their own solutions. As a result, students who receive a quality STEM education are primed to become the next generation of innovators. SAF in CSR partnership with Tata Power Mundra, Kutch have designed STEM program to be implemented in 4 schools of Mundra and Mandvi Taluka.
On 09.09.2022, an Inaugration of Vigyan Kaushalya Vikas Program (STEM) was organized at Nanabhadiya Primary school. Mr Atul Karwatkar, Group CSR Head, Tata Power Mundra, Ms. Anpuranaben – CSR team Tata Power Mundra, Sarpanch of Nanabhadiya village, SMC president of Nanabhadiya primary school, Mr Mihir Pathak- Master trainer of STEM, Ms. Rameshwari Gajjar – Program Manager of SAF, teachers from schools and teachers of SAF remained present in the program. Program began by welcome of guests and by deep Pragatya ceremony followed by prayer.
Mr Atul Karwatkar then addressed the audience with giving specific message on how STEM is important for current age children and vision of Tatapower for coming years contributing towards children development. Mr Mihir then briefed everyone regarding STEM and how it is going to be implemented. Ms. Rameshwari Gajjar gave brief idea about program design and vision of SAF in this regard.
Program ended with giving vote of thanks to all remained present followed by detailed TOT on STEM
Training of Teachers – STEM:
Training of teachers was organised on understanding STEM model as on 09.09.2022. Teachers of Government schools of Mundra and Mandvi Taluka of Kutch participated in it. With a very innovative approach Mr Mihir Pathak conducted this taining. This included brainstorming in groups of teachers and students on various themes, thinking on designing some tools and actually making creative circuit. Teachers and students gave very postitive feedback for the training.
