Programs and Activities 2016-2017

We carried out a total of eight programs in the year 2016-17. This included four Vacation camps and four SmartCamps

Gujarati Medium for Girls (MORNING)

The school is managed by Nagar Prathamik Shikshan Samiti (NPSS), Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan.

We conducted a weeklong Vadiksha Vacation Camp program at this school during April 2016. ​Following activities were carried out in the Camp.​

  • In Math Worksop, basic concepts were clarified, through play-way and fun-filled methods such as mock market and other hands-on activities. Dynamic worksheets were used and group activities were also conducted.
  • Spoken English classes were conducted in an interactive and activity based play-way methods, where students learnt to converse in simple sentences.
  • Good values were imparted through videos & short-films. Students were encouraged to discuss the themes and share their experiences.
  • In Robotics Workshop, students tried their hands at assembling simple robots and got exposure to working of more complex ones.
  • In Art and Craft sessions conducted by an expert, students learnt to make creative items out of waste, such as old CDs etc. They learnt how to paint on paper and cloth.
  • Students played various brain teaser games like Chess, Scrabble and Word-making. Prizes were given to the winners.
  • Classes on modern dance were conducted where students participated enthusiastically.
  • Healthy and delicious hot snacks were served to the students everyday of the camp.

Gujarati Medium for Boys

The school is managed by Nagar Prathamik Shikshan Samiti (NPSS), Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan.

Vadiksha Vacation Camp program at this school was conducted successfully during 25th to 30th April 2015 with the support and sponsorship of Gujarat Alkalis and Chemicals Ltd. (GACL), Vadodara. Activities were conducted with an objective to introduce students in an interesting way to various educational topics and facilitate students in their creative expressions.The activities carried out in the Camp included the followings:​

  • In Math Worksop, basic concepts were clarified, through play-way and fun-filled methods such as mock market and other hands-on activities. Dynamic worksheets were used and group activities were also conducted.
  • Science Lab was conducted with the help of a Mobile Science Van. The students got an opportunity to see various experiments and receive proper explanations.

Vadiksha SmartCamp program at this school was launched in June 2016. The subjects covered were Gujarati, English and Mathematics. All programme components of SmartCamp were successfully implemented. The outcome of the programme has been good as confirmed by the monthly Formative Assessments.In addition, following activities were also carried out during the program.​

  • A Teacher training workshop with the support of the DIET staff was conducted.
  • Computer based learning, using educational software like Learning-Delight.
  • Innovative activity-based approach was followed to familiarise various concepts of mathematics, which are commonly used.
  • A Science Lab was conducted with the help of a Mobile Science Van. The students got an opportunity to see various experiments and receive proper explanations.
  • A Mock Market session was conducted to introduce and reinforce basic mathematics concepts like weights and measures, profit and loss and cashier activities.
  • Basic Introduction to computer courses were arranged to introduce the children to the computers
  • Students visited Planatarium and Kamati bag (Childrens park and Zoo) and enjoyed various rides and fun activities.

The school is managed by Nagar Prathamik Shikshan Samiti (NPSS), Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan.

  • A Teacher training workshop with the support of the DIET staff was conducted.
  • Computer based learning, using educational software like Learning-Delight.
  • Innovative activity-based approach was followed to familiarise various concepts of mathematics, which are commonly used.
  • A Science Lab was conducted with the help of a Mobile Science Van. The students got an opportunity to see various experiments and receive proper explanations.
  • A Mock Market session was conducted to introduce and reinforce basic mathematics concepts like weights and measures, profit and loss and cashier activities.
  • Basic Introduction to computer courses were arranged to introduce the children to the computers

Dashrath Adarsh Prathmik Misra Shala Dashrath, Vadodara

Gujarati Medium, Co-educational

The school is managed by the Zillla Panchayat, Vadodara.

Vadiksha SmartCamp program (First Year) at Dashrath started in June 2016. Subjects covered were Math, English and Gujarati. All programme components of SmartCamp were successfully implemented. The outcome of the programme has been good as confirmed by the monthly Formative Assessments as well as the program end Summative assessment.In addition, following activities were also carried out during the program.​

  • Visit to the Vadodara Planetarium and the Kamati bag (Children’s Park and Zoo) was organised, Students enjoyed various rides and fun activities.
  • Classes for modern dance were organised for fun activities and also to improve attendance.
