Sai’s Angel Foundation, in partnership with TATA ProEngage, has undertaken the Life Skills Development Project-II wherein on every weekend, online sessions are being held by volunteers of TATA ProEngage on various themes like Health & Hygiene, Science Around Us, Personality Development, Confidence Building, Communication Skills, Critical Thinking Skills, Team Work, Career Guidance and Gender Equality & Women Empowerment. The key objectives of the project are to provide a platform to have access to information, bring about awareness on various themes for all-round development and prepare, through various Life Skills lessons, for facing challenges in life.
As a part of the Project, a visit to the Ginger Hotel, Vadodara was organised to understand the operation of a hotel and explore the possibility of hospitality industry as one of the career options. Mr Ayush Agrawal of Ginger Hotel gave a brief history of Tata Group and thereafter the students took a tour of the Kitchen, Restaurant, Banquet-halls, Rooms, Service and Parking areas to understand how these facilities are managed. After the tour, the students were engaged in activities arranged by the Hotel Staff like extempore talk on a subject and sandwich making. The students also celebrated Christmas along with the hotel staff.
Students of the 9th standard participated in a Food Winter-Camp organized by Learning Wala (Shri Mihir Pathak) at the Swarg Farm House, Padra. Through various group and project activities and discussions, the students learnt to be aware about healthy and nutritious food; understand as to why and how one gets attached to the taste of a particular food item; and recognize the nutrition content of home cooked staple food, packed food and various seasonal fruits and vegetables. The students also tried their hands in cooking breakfast themselves. As part of the project, they made solar powered cooker.
